Whitechapel Gallery is one of London's leading art galleries, located in Whitechapel. Founded in 1901, the gallery is known for its innovative exhibitions and support of both established and emerging artists. Over its history, it has presented works by such masters as Pablo Picasso, Jackson Pollock, Frida Kahlo and Mark Rothko.

Incredible place, one of the best galleries in London, but for the love of God, two things. One - make better use of your galleries, so many times I go here and there is like one or two things on and way more empty or unused spaces. Two - the bookshop has the best selection in London but it's so expensive to the extent that you paste higher prices over the originals on back covers. It is unaffordable and classically exemplifies how art galleries pretend to be on the side of the downtrodden but are run for the rich. I have seen books with fewer than 100 pages sold for nearly £20. What? How about fill your galleries with exhibitions and use the money to discount your bookshop. Or maybe pay the rich £#%@%!%&'s on your board a little less while they milk the artistically curious poor dry.
As I say, love the gallery on the odd occasions there's art in it.

big white lodge gallery space filled with interesting artists, I suggest researching the displays you want to see and booking the tickets beforehand, they have a small cafe as well as a gift shop.
